Alexis says…

I loved Pam’s first book and was so excited to get my hands on Deliver.  I had some seriously high expectations going in and to say that were met is an understatement.  Deliver was not your typical captive book, no, there were layers upon layers that made this book more thought-provoking.  I kept thinking to myself, “how in the hell could she think of all these amazing twists and turns?”
Like I said earlier, this book is not your normal captive book.  In Deliver, Liv, a female is the captor and subsequent Mistress.  Right off the bat, you definitely want to hate her, I mean, who wouldn’t?  How can you side with someone who abducts an innocent boy?   Josh is definitely innocent, he is a small-town college student, who is also devoutly religion.  He is also exactly what his soon to be buyer wants…a virgin.
Mistress, I love your smile.  If I could free it once a day, it might make the next ten weeks bearable.
The first part of the book deals with Josh’s capture and his training.  I have to admit for some reason this aspect of the book really gutted me.  I had to put the book down a few times to get my heart in check.  Not only was Liv trying to get into his head, Josh in turn was getting into hers as well.  The connection that these two shared was amazing. As much as I didn’t want to, I was rooting for them the whole time.  Gah…I don’t want to give away any more because I don’t want to ruin any of the plot for you.  I will say… Van’s character (the other captor and Master) was very fascinating and I do wish we learned more about him (hint hint).  Lastly, as much as wanted to, I could not hate Liv.  In fact, I think she was one of the toughest heroines I’ve ever read.  Her story is utterly heartbreaking.
“I would have missed your kiss, that incomparable connection when your lips brush mine.  But most of all, I would’ve missed or future together, the one you would’ve taken from us.”

This book is a definite must read…Pam Godwin is crazy-talented and one of my favorite authors.  Her writing is flawless and clean.  Her books are so unique and out of the ordinary and that is what makes me love her more!
